Active Capital Company Announces Acquisition of Stake in Schumag AG and Strategic Partnership with Existing Shareholders
The Amsterdam and Munich-based investment company, Active Capital Company (“ACC”), has participated in SCHUMAG AG’s (“SAG” or the “Company”) rights issue, becoming its largest shareholder. ACC has formed a strategic partnership with existing shareholders (the “Consortium”) to support the Company’s objective of strengthening its business prospects and expanding on its robust client relationships. Additionally, the Consortium is exploring the potential delisting of the company. With this investment, ACC achieves its inaugural investment in the Special Investment Fund. This move also reinforces ACC’s presence in Germany, marking its fourth investment in the country.
SAG’s Outstanding Capabilities and Robust Position in the Value Chain
After a lengthy and tumultuous period for the Company, a group of local investors stepped in during 2018. Subsequent investments and improvement initiatives have kickstarted SAG’s turnaround. ACC’s investment aims to accelerate this transformation by further enhancing the machine park and professionalizing the business in close collaboration between the existing management team and the rest of the Consortium.
Werner Krabbe, partner at ACC: “We are impressed by SAG’s pivotal role in the value chain and the team’s extraordinary commitment and resilience demonstrated over the past years. Their exceptional range of capabilities and expertise, together with their continuous commitment to deliver products to the highest standards, gives SAG a competitive edge that sets them apart in the industry.”
Johannes Wienands, CEO at SAG: “The SAG team has closely collaborated with ACC and the other shareholders to develop an extensive plan aimed at propelling the Company to the next level. ACC’s impressive capability to rapidly and comprehensively understand the drivers of SAG’s success, achieved through extensive on-site engagement and thorough data analysis, stood out to us.”
